  • How much tip you give at a 5 star hotel in US?

Posted by admin on March 30th, 2010 and filed under 5 star hotel | 1 Comment »

How much tip you are supposed to give to daily maid service at a 5 star hotel? what if there is twice daily cleaning service? do you give tip twice or how? also when you pay are billed at your room number for dining and other services, how do you give the tip?
Thank you in advance for your response.

15% is pretty standard in most places. But you can go online and check that particular hotel, the site will normally tell you what is expected.

How do I start my own shoe business boutique store in New York City?

Posted by admin on March 30th, 2010 and filed under boutique | 2 Comments »

I have drawn out a couple of sketches of my shoes and I am just trying to see what do I do now? I would like to start my own shoe business and my own boutique, but where do I start? Who do I actually get to make the shoes for me. How do I sell my shoes through another company like (bergdorf goodman). Or any other designer outlet store?
How do I make my online store?

You’ll need allot of money for starts, even in Small towns the rental on property on main streets is very high.

To go fully online you’ll probably need to use mail order, and you’ll need a good web-site.

In either case you should know most big shue companies have their shoes make overseas at a small fraction of the cost of what they could have them made for within the U.S>; and even then big companies, by making things in mass and having already spend the big bucks up front, can make things for less than a small business person may, per item.

What are some good all-inclusive Mexican resorts for 18 year olds not during spring break ?

Posted by admin on March 30th, 2010 and filed under resorts | 3 Comments »

My friends and I are trying to plan our senior trip to Mexico in June for a reasonable cost.
What would be some good ALL-INCLUSIVE resorts for a group of 18 year old girls ?
We’re looking for fun bars and such at the hotel, not really to leave the resort for the local clubs.

Well, it depends on where in Mexico you want to go. If you’re planning Cancun-Mayan Riviera there are plenty of good all-inclusive resorts for people your age. Some of the best I know are:

    In Cancun:
    Riu
    JW Marriott
    Aqua

    In Riviera Maya:
    Fairmont Mayacoba
    Mayan Palace
    Blue Bay

Personally I liked Blue Bay a lot. Lots of young people, nice bars, good atmosphere.

My recommendation is: check for those resorts that are adult-only (very few actually). The rest should be good options.

If you are planning to go to Los Cabos or somewhere else (Puerto Vallarta, Ixtapa, Acapulco) check on the www.tripadvisor.com, they have some good information about all-inclusive resorts.

What’s up with people and hanging out at Tim Hortons with luxery and souped up cars?

Posted by admin on March 30th, 2010 and filed under luxery | 5 Comments »

Maybe it’s just a Toronto thing, but I see this everywhere, Timmy’s in Scarborough, Timmy’s in Woodbridge, everywhere.
Um, no….I am not talking about Why people go to Tim Hortons, I am asking, why are there young people hanging out in the parking lot with souped up cars? And this happens in almost every Timmys
As for fine taste. I love Timmy’s, I have at least a large double double everyday, sometimes 3. But to say that Timmy’s is a refined place for fine taste…that’s just ludacrist!!! Timmy’s is awesome, but there is better coffee to be had.

Ha ha ha! Too funny! My fiance and I comment on that all the time when we go through the Timmy’s drive-thru late at night. It happens here in London too. I guess it’s better than drinking (alcohol) and driving though! Donuts and coffee aren’t going to get you arrested for impaired driving later.

Can you recommend a small boutique hotel in Paris that is clean, friendly and not too expensive?

Posted by admin on March 30th, 2010 and filed under boutique hotel | 3 Comments »

My favorite little boutique in the Opera district is booked. IMy girls and I like small intimate boutique hotels and would appreciate suggestions. It is for Fashion Week.

The Hotel Lutetia is beautiful. You can get a room for about 180 euroes. It has some sister hotels as well. Check on the Concorde Hotels website. The breakfast is ridiculously expensive, but there are lots of cafes nearby. I love the little eclair/chocolate shop around the corner. Plus the Lutetia is just 2 blocks from the Bon Marche.

What to wear to a 5 star hotel wedding in central London?

Posted by admin on March 30th, 2010 and filed under 5 star | 2 Comments »

I’v been invited to my cousin’s wedding at a 5 star hotel in London in March and have no idea what to wear. I’m going to both the ceremony and the recption so will need something that will be suitable for both. The invitation states "black tie". I’m a 24 year old girl – can anyone recommend something I could wear? Bearing in mind it’s usually pretty cold in London in March! Thanks!

Since it is a 5 star hotel, I am going to say this; Wear something very fancy. Everyone else probably will be wearing something fancy, so you do not want to be left out. Visit a place where you can rent something, because I don’t think it would be worth buying something for a one time occasion like this. If you still don’t feel comfortable, ask the person who invited you and I’m sure they can tell you.

How are the 5 star hotels classified?

What hotel do you recommend to stay in at Mrytle Beach?

Posted by admin on March 30th, 2010 and filed under hotel | 2 Comments »

I’m planning a trip to Mrytle Beach this spring/summer and was curious as to what hotels are the best. Looking online really doesn’t give me a personal account of the hotel and the quality/price.

Do you have any recommendations? Any information you could give me regarding location, price, service, etc would be very helpful.

I’d try to stay around Broadway at the Beach. Its a very nice area. Its a huge boardwalk on a lake. There are tons of stores, resturants, and lots for kids to do. There is a mini golf course, a minor league baseball feild, NASCAR Speedpark, a theatre that has Broadway and circus shows, a 3D theatre and Ripley’s aquarium. There is also a place called MagiQuest. It’s like a live action Harry Potter. And, it’s not just for adults! At night, the area becomes a litlle more geared for adults. The most popular night attractions are Margaritaville and Señor Frog’s.

The Broadway at the Beach area is very close to the beach too. It’s not exactily walking distance…but nothing is in Myrtle Beach…having a car is best (or a moped if your too young!)

My fiance and I stayed at the Fairfeild Inn across the road from Boardway at the Beach. You have to walk to across a slightly busy road to get to the attractions. But, it is not too bad and there are crosswalks and lights. The service was amazing at the hotel. Everyone was extreamly personable. I would recommed it!

But, if you want to stay in Broadway at the Beach, there are two hotels in the area. There is a Holiday Inn and a Hampton. They seemed quite nice. You can find there links under the accomodations section of Broadway at the Beach’s page.

    Hope this helps!

    And have a wonderful trip!!!

What is the best directory to find hotels without having a booking engine?

Posted by admin on March 30th, 2010 and filed under hotels | 3 Comments »

I am looking for a way to find hotels but I don’t want to book them online, I want to book hotels by either calling them or going to there independent website. The reason for this is I figured out booking engine sites charge more money for using them to book. I have saved substantial amounts of money by booking directoy from the hotels. What I am looking for is a directory just for hotels and most importantly has the hotels independent website and phone number, please help..!?

You can use the systems on internet to find hotels, read reviews and even see how much they would charge and if they have rooms available for when you want to go.
Then you make a note of the name of the hotel and use a search engine (google or something like that) to find the website of the hotel or a hotel listing for the town.
With that information you can phone them.

Of course, you can also just use Google to find hotels without using the booking sites, but I found they have useful information about the hotels, certainly when you find one that has reliable reviews.

The old way is to buy a guidebook, buy the one made for your kind of budget, and phone based on the reviews in that book.
For backpackers and budget travelers the Lonely Planet series are great, but if you like 4 star hotels they will not be as helpful.

Which site would be the best to start looking depends on where as much as how expensive. I would just spend an hour or so and do several searches, both using a booking site as first source and using a search engine without a booking site to.
