requirements to be a 5 star & 3 star hotel?

The difference is in the amenities:

A five-star hotel should have a restaurant, swimming pools, fitness centers, room service, concierge service and parking service. Also it should have conference rooms and original art. Your rooms should have a blow dryer, TV, toiletries, phone, and a desk.

But the ratings are usually subjective to the whim of the rater. A three-star hotel is usually pretty comfortable if you don’t need most of those extra facilities.

Hey Everyone, we got a chance to stay a couple nights at the Gaia Hotel and Reserve in Manuel Antonio Costa Rica. http://GaiaHR.com Folks, this is a 5-Star, ADULT ONLY hotel and resort. Quite funny actually, the night before we were at Tranquilo Backpackers in San Jose- reviewing that and some of the other hostels in the San Jose area. The next night, Gaia in Manuel Antonio. So, does this 5-star hotel live up to its status? I gotta say we were thinking Gaia may be a little pretentious, after all, studio’s and villa’s start at about $220 and go up to about $900. Don’t get me wrong, we appreciate 500,000+ thread count and flat screen tv’s as much as anyone, and they DO have a 12 acre Reserve with rare wildlife and lush vegetation on the property. But what about the pretentiousness? Would they be snooty? Well, Check this video out and see if the Gaia Hotel and Reserve meet OUR standards of 5-Star… without the ATTITUDE.

I got a gig playing piano at a fancy hotel but I’m not sure what to wear. My friend says office clothes (white collar T, black pants, court shoes) and others say a dress (in which case, one that’s long or short??).

I’ve got shoulder length hair, should I tie it up too?

I would say a nice, long, elegant dress. Sleeveless or not is up to you. Something like these 3 would be good.

The hotel should not be more than 30mins from the airport.

Hi i have just returned from the 5* Sunrise select Mamlouk Palace in Hurghada. The hotel is approx 20 mins from the airport and is directly on the beach which is private. You can use all the facilities of the hotel next door Sunrise Garden beach. It is all inclusive and the a la carte restaurants are lovely. Asian, Oriental and Italian all look out over the ocean it is beautiful. The Mexican one is inside the hotel and in my opinion was the best food ever. You can visit these as often as you like not like others where it is once per week. The drinks are all inclusive including international brands(but you have to ask for them) from 10am until 6am the following morning. The egyptian laws state they must refrain from alcohol for 4 hours per day. It is a beautiful hotel and can be booked through Thomas Cook Direct Holidays or Sunrise website if you look on holiday truths egypt forum someone has posted their website or just google Sunrise Mamlouk palace and it should come up.
