what is diference betwen hotel & boutique hotel
Boutique hotel is a term originating in North America to describe intimate, usually luxurious or quirky hotel environments. Boutique hotels differentiate themselves from larger chain/branded hotels and motels by providing personalized level accommodation and services / facilities.
Sometimes known as "design hotels" or "lifestyle hotels," boutique hotels began in the 1980s in major cities like New York, London, and San Francisco. Very often it is the Morgans Hotel in Murray Hill of New York, that is awarded with the title of first boutique hotel in the world. It was opened by Ian Schrager in 1984 according to design of Andrée Putnam.
Typically boutique hotels are furnished in a themed, stylish and/or aspirational manner. Although usually considerably smaller than a mainstream hotel (often ranging from 3 to 100 guest rooms), boutique hotels can often have hundreds of rooms in major cities. Guest rooms and suites are fitted with telephony and Wi-Fi Internet, air-conditioning, honesty bars and often cable/pay TV. Guest services are attended to by 24 hour hotel staff. Many boutique hotels have on-site dining facilities, and the majority offer bars and lounges which may also be open to the general public.
Despite this definition, the popularity of the boutique term and concept has lead to some confusion about the term. Boutique hotels have typically been unique properties operated by individials or companies with a small collection. However, their successes have prompted established multi-national hotel companies to establish their own brands. The most notable is Starwood Hotels and Resorts’ W Hotels.
Currently, there is one publication dedicated to the boutique hotel, boutique DESIGN magazine, which is published quarterly. Boutique hotel resources are more commonly available online and there are a number of sytlized design and coffee table books highlighting various properties throughout the world.
I am looking for a nice romantic hotel centrally located in Istanbul for a 3 night WE. Any recommendations? ideally something with charm and well designed.

I don’t know anything about the Howard Square Boutique but my wife stayed at the Chaleena and it’s a dump, the breakfast sucks and the rooms are in need of repairs, carpets smell of mildew. You think you got a good package well you get what you pay for. Also far from the skytrain or subway, but you can take a canal boat to down town in about 30 minute ride on the smelly klong.

I am going to Paris in July with my girlfriend and would like to stay in a boutique hotel, three or four stars on the left bank. I don’t want to spend more than €300 per night if possible. Anyone has experiences with small designer or contemporary trendy hotels in that area? Please share.
If you could also advise on a romantic restaurant, even if romantic might be suggestive somewhere you felt like you could have popped “The Question”:-)), maybe along the river or on the river? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
The Hotel Left Bank St. Germain is what you are looking for. A lovely little 3 star (by the way, the French hotel star rating system only goes to three) http://www.paris-paris.com/hotel_left-bank_saint-germain.php
Right next door is the Cafe Procope which is the oldest restaurant in Paris. It has been serving food in the same location since 1686. http://www.procope.com/
Le coupe chou is also a very cozy place. http://www.lecoupechou.com/index.php?PHPSESSID=17d8ae5ee71ea0e209cf3313d06d8e58
P.S. I am sure that at least one person will suggest the Jules Verne in the Eiffel Tower. For the record, let me say I hate it but here is the website: http://www.lejulesverne-paris.com/
looked at these two hotels and they seem to be the best for the price and also look to be in a good location any help please
I haven’t used these places but I know where they are. The Tim Boutique is a practically brand new hotel. It is in a good location close to Pattaya 2nd Road which is a main street. Close to malls and movie theaters, restaurants, bars and street vendors. Short walk to Beach Road.
The Mercure is a little older but not bad. Your choice, if you are okay with the price. My choice would be the Tim Hotel only because it would be a little easier to utilize the cheap 10 baht baht bus transportation on Pattaya 2nd Road.
Keep in mind that hotels in Pattaya that are in the 500-600 baht range will have air, hot water, private toilet, cable TV. Maybe at around 800 baht they will have pools too!
Good luck.
