Would love to avoid children (sorry!) and not interested in a big party. Really just looking for a tropical paradise to escape, swim in beautiful calm water against a lush green background, possibly kayak and enjoy an adult beverage or two without completely excluding my non drinking boyfriend. Please advise and thanks so much in advance. Desperately seeking guidance!!
Check out ‘Hacienda Tres Rios’ in Riviera Maya, Mexico. I haven’t personally been there but we’ve looked into it as a possible vacation spot and even though we chose somewhere else this year, we still have kept this resort in mind.
Pretty sure it’s adults only. It has an ecological park onsite. Onsite kayak tours through the jungle and all the perks of a nice Mexican resort.
We’ve been to the Barcelo Maya twice and were even married at the Palace hotel earlier this month. We love that resort and all of our guests are still talking about how much of a great time they all had. It’s a mega-resort and is not adults only, but there aren’t too many kids running about and their beach is phenomenal. Barcelo is really huge and there is lots of walking involved, but we still really love this resort as there is virtually no ‘party scene’, food is pretty OK, rooms and pools and property are gorgeous and immaculate.
If you go to the Tres Rios, I’d love to hear a trip report from you so please keep me in mind if you decide to book the trip.
I’d be sure to stay away from hotels in Cancun as that scene is much different than Riviera Maya.
Unbelievable.

Typical half-truth from someone who has no experience. It’s pathetic that she thinks putting an item up for sell on ebay is something so significant that it is worth mentioning. Any 18-year old can put items on Ebay.
It just shows how short her list of accomplishment is. She also forgot to tell people that she was for the "bridge to nowhere" in the beginning. How convenient!
have a look at pope for catholics, Osborn for protestants, ayathollas for muslims
I think Billy Graham is a good example of limitation. He would limit income for himself no matter how much was given. He lived by a modest income to support his family and to retire on. many of the preachers, minsters, ect. do not have retirement, medical or any of the things we would be able to recieve when working a job. Its a fair request in return for a full time job with lots of overtime. As for the greedy ones…………well..I just dont know the answer

Sometimes there is always that one person that calls me that I can sense will be more trouble than worth my time and effort. And usually they are the CHEAPSKATES too. Those type of customers I usually make up some lie to steer them away from my company. I have a business where I have the luxery of picking and choosing. I don’t have to worry about every order making or breaking me….Just wondering if other small business owners do the same with less than pleasant people?
I don’t always lie either…I will tell them point blank to go somewhere else. Just depends on the type of person. Money isn’t everything especially if I have to worry about this customer from day 1 of order to end of transaction date.
sporty, i’ll send them to you since you are more on line with the type of people I am talking about. ok, Spelling Cop? hehe
there’s nothing wrong with a "white lie" to get rid of unwanted business.
stuff like : "I’m not accepting new clients right now" or "sorry, I can’t drop what I am doing to handle your request because I am on a critical deadline" – is a perfectly acceptible way of ditching unwanted business.. in fact – I would suggest a white lie is far more prudent and business-like than the truth (ie. "this jobs more trouble than its worth" or "you’re a cheapskate")
personally, I stopped advertising (yellow pages, etc) years ago because I found I spent far too much time feilding calls from consumers who were looking for the cheapest price – for me, referrals are a much better way to go… and white lies are a part of business

I just booked a room at a 4 star hotel for the weekend. Let’s say the price was right, and my family needed to get out for the weekend.
I understand that besdies what I have already paid, there isa $25 valet parking cost — and $15 if I park it myself.
What other charges should a traveller be aware of while staying at a luxery hotel? In other words, what should I do that it doesn’t bite me in the rear when it’s all said and done.
i booked online at the o’hare hilton in chicago. they charged me $20 for taxes or something. but i’m assuming you’ve already paid those. i’ve stayed many times in chicago and the taxes were never that high. phone calls will cost you an arm and a leg, take your cel. room service has charges added on, gratuity and service charge. there shouldnt be anything else that they will ‘get’ you for.
If you are anything like our family, save money is not exactly the term. But cutting budget for something else to have enough money for food and gas. What are you cutting back on?
Our family used an abundance of paper plates and towels.
Now we wash wash wash. This is one "luxery" that became a bad habit.
Tell me about yours.
Thanks, and it is sad that so many people are so close to losing it and gas prices are pushing them over. BUT I am one of those people, I have to admit.
cutting back a starbucks habit, taking lunch to work more. I also try to track daily where i spend money–it helps.
